PSC's New Initiatives Involve 12 to 14 Percent Cutbacks Globally
To improve its long-term growth and boost profitability, Progress is implementing a new set of initiatives. This includes enhancing its product strategy to focus on growth opportunities in the enterprise software market and aggressively bring new products and solutions to market. Progress also wants to become more customer and solutions driven, in hopes of customer and partner success. Lastly, it aspires to increase its market awareness and ensure product brands are highly recognized in their markets. To carry out these new initiatives, Progress Software will reorganize its sales, development, and marketing departments to streamline its operations and boost productivity and efficiency. As a result, Progress will be cutting its global workforce by about 12 to 14 percent across all functions and geographies. It will also be consolidating its offices in certain locations globally.
