Progress OpenEdge® SaaS platform is now certified for use in Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) after thorough testing and analysis. Due to the independent software vendors' demand for more OpenEdge-related deployment guidance around EC2, Progress also has a specific enablement program for helping its Application Partners (APs) bring their applications to the market more quickly than their competitors.

In its press release, Progress stated, "In addition to providing consultative services aimed at assuring each partner selects the most appropriate hosting offering for each application, Progress also developed a complete support system for ISVs looking to understand how to operate and rapidly deploy applications in the cloud. The community site provides resources ranging from creating a first Amazon Machine Image (AMI) to associating an elastic IP address to basic 'Getting to the Cloud' instructions."
